4/14/26 soft sculpture

working on a ton of soft sculpture/stuffies/sewing stuff lately, i’ll upload some of it when i’m home and with better internet connection. it’s interesting to see how non-linear my progress has been. quality’s all over the place. loving the change of pace between fabric and clay, though, it feels like i can be so much more slow and deliberate. not that i can’t w/ clay but for some reason when hand sculpting i always feel like i’m being hunted and have to rush.

there’s this artist, @withgus.to on instagram, whom i’m taking lots of inspiration from. i can’t find the specific post but their pattern making process looks like the correct way to go about things. i’ve yet to use patterns. love their jrout and jrog bags. love the idea of carrying this little functional creature around with you.

today i’ve got a small handful of lighter coozie ideas i plan on starting (non-fabric lol). all the hope i’ve ever had is hinged on their quality, i’ll show you later.

i was in knoxville for the weekend and went to a show at pilot light my last night there. happened to see the band trust blinks, i was going crazy on turns to gold this august and didn’t realize i was listening them until halfway through their set. they’re beautiful. go check em out
